I need some advice. We will be welding with Manaurite 45/35 and 35/25. Does anyone know anything about this? Like a what P number, F number, grade, SA or SB #, etc.... We will be welding furnace tubes and no PWHT. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Manaurite is the base material?

I have welded this before with ENiCrFe 2 (F43 SFA 5.11) filler  One of the biggest problems with the Manaurite 35/25 material is the coalescence of carbide precipitates at the grain boundaries. Use good cleaning practices avoid the use of Carbon Steel tools  if possible, avoid introducing additional carbon into the joint.

Looking at the job scope it states that we will be welding with it on some furnace tubes. So I am taking it that this is the rod we will be using???? I'm not sure. I'm going to pull the folder and see if I can't find more info on the scope of work.

OK it says that we are to connect the 20cr 32ni materials using Manaurite (35cr-45ni) and for a different weld use Manaurite (25cr-35ni) filler metals. I found a Manaurite XM and XTM But no other information other than that.

It also says on the drawing 35cr-45ni+nb+micro XTM or equal..... If that is any help.

cryo,
I wish I could help but this is way out of my area of expertise. :-)

If you can get an answer anywhere, it will probably be here in this forum.

Best of luck,
