Hi Guys

I'm kinda new at working with Lead Free Body Solder.

Tell me what I'm NOT doing RIGHT.

TINING PROCESS I DO;

1. I made sure the surface of the sheet metal is nice and clean: Disc Sander and wipe it down with ACTONE.

2. I get me tining paste and brush in on followed by heat.

3. Once I see the tining paste turning BROWNISH, I now use either one of these wiping cloths or paper towels. I wet 'em donw first and then hit the tining area.

4. Sometimes I use a piece of terry cloth towel.

Note: I bought cheese cloth; haven't use that YET.

Questions Please:

1. What is the proper wiping cloth should I be using ?

2. Is their a special tining cloth that I can buy ?

3. Does the tining cloth have to be dunk in " Hot Water " and then wipe the tining area ?

I'm in your hands guys. I will follow your LEAD . . . LOL  or  SUGGESTIONS.

THANK YOU ALL
GOD BLESS

In sweating copper you use a cold cloth or sponge to set the solder and control the flow.  Othwerwise the solder in a copper joint will run  down.  Any thick cloth will do.

Is this at all helpful?

You might try the Practical machinist forum.   Lots more hands on advice.
