Looking for entry level AC/DC Tig unit for mild steel, stainless and aluminum welding. Will not be high usage welding.

I live in Jefferson, Georgia 30549 and have been looking at the Miller Econotig machine.

Am open to advice...

9:15pm Thurs 6/19/08  There is a Miller Syncrowave 180 SD on ebay for $610 (right now). 12 hours left to go

Is that a good / decent low end machine?

thanks again, Granpa

Use www.freightquote.com class 70 (when it askes for that info). I had one shipped from OKC, OK to North central FL for $380

Do you have a view on a Miller Syncrowave 180 SD in excellent shape?

Looks pretty impressive from the different websites / emails I have read for a lower end machine..

thanks again, Granpa

They are nice. A friend of mine has one, good machine, I think it will work real well for you. Try the search feature and see if there are any posts about them.

thanks again, only thing worrying me is the one for sale doesn't look like any of the ones I have found. Must be a really old model.

Sorry to keep bothering you but do you happen to know when Miller started making the 180SD??

Get them to give you the serial number and you can check the list below. It is in my 1999 catalog but not the 1998 so I feel like 1999 was the first year. And the serial number would start with KK for '99.   ('00=LA,'01=LB,'02=LC etc.)

Example:
A product displaying the Serial Number W-117683 was manufactured in 1970.
A product displaying the Serial Number JC122376 was manufactured in 1982.
A product displaying the Serial Number LG124622 W was manufactured in 2006.
