I need some information on this unit, I am new to the welding community and I am a little frustrated. Hobart sold us these expensive machines, then went out of business. (no fault of their own I guess) I am getting an alarm message on the main screen "spare". I have manuals, but nothing says what or where to look. it does say "digital input"

Rick,

Hobart's advanced power source division was bought out by Liburdi. Log onto www.liburdi.com as a starting point for help. I'm sure they have some contact numbers for technical support & service. Besides the problems you are currently facing, how do you like the performance of the Orbitig? Does the older Hobart model come with a DC arc starter or high freq? Thanks

The Orbitigs we have were custom jobs, DC Arc starters. We are happy with the power supply, but the interface is not so good. We are in the works right now to replace them with new machines. Thank you for the info. I have worked out the problem, but I really don't trust these machines too far. I will have the chance to work more with these machines in the near future, so you never know what I will run into.

Thanks for the info Rick. If you are planning to sell any of these units in the near future please contact me. I would like to buy one for my shop. I certainly cannot afford a new Orbitig, but perhaps we could work out a reasonable price for one of the units you are getting rid of. Let me know what you think. - Thanks.
