Can you check the depth of penetration on a aluminum weldment of 2"X 4" square tubing welded on both sides of 4"X 4"X .375 thick plate by RT are do you need to DT to find it.

Depth of penetration can be checked by RT - a so called on stream technique must be used.(someone might correct me on this one)
Not sure what you mean by DT?

DT means Destruction Testing its were they destroy the weldment to check for penetration of the weld.

Milton,
You are correct in your description but I beleive that proper terminoligy is "Destructive Testing" but i very well could be wrong.

Either way you are correct. :-)
