Does anyone know where I could find forms for recording welder certification continuity for either AWS or ASME. I know I've seen one before, but now for the life of me I can't find it again. We work to ASME standards, but I'm sure the format for either code would be similar. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your offer. My company is looking for something with either AWS or ASME on it, thinking it would be more official. I know I saw one before, but can't remember where. Again I thank you for your offer, and may take you up on it, if I can get them to let me use it.

Here is some free software from Lincoln Electric that does a pretty decent job.  It's what I use and does the job nicely.
AWS D1.1          http://arcworks.lincolnsupport.com/files/D11v25a1.exe
AWS D1.5          http://arcworks.lincolnsupport.com/files/D15v21c1.exe
ASME Section IX   http://arcworks.lincolnsupport.com/files/aixv25a.exe

Here is a link for some other ideas from other guys here in the forum. http://www.aws.org/cgi-bin/mwf/topic_show.pl?pid=83943;hl=LINCOLN%20ARCWORKS

There are not any "Official Forms" that could be used to possibly indicate acceptability of a form by AWS or ASME. They just provide the requirements for the content.

The content can be as simple as paragraphs stating what was done for the WPQ, what the qualified ranges are, what testing was done and results, and who the manufacturer is with a signature.

The content can also be complex.

The advantage of the computerized information in an application designed for WPS/PQR's and WPQs is the ability to quickly perform searches and create customized reports using data that was already entered.

There are quite a few forms of the stand alone ttpe at http://authorizedinspector.com/Section_IX/Section_IX.htm

Arcworks is a nice free program but a little cumbersome. The WELDCAD application that comes with it is GREAT. Here is a video showing the creation of a joint sketch.  http://weldingdata.com/weldcad/weldcad.html . Id suggest downloading the arcworks just for the weldcad program.

Have a good day.
