Can some one tell me the technic and the propper way to travel when running a 6010 root on pipe. Where to start , stop up hill or down?

On a 6g test, do I start at 6 or 7 then weld to 12, then the same on the other side for a good sound 6010 root pass.

The root pass is welded with a "drag" technique. The tip of the electrode
is held in contact with both pipes and dragged around the circumference
of the pipe, progressing vertically downhard. The electrode initially
should be held roughly perpendicular to the pipe. If there is a
proper fit-up and the proper current is used, a small "keyhole" will be seen following behind the electrode. If the keyhole is not seen, the
electrode is not penetrating through to the inside of the pipe.

Sir I think someone has got you confused. If Im not to drunk to explain this. 12 o clock is on top and 6 is on bottom just like a clock. As far as key hole goes it depends on fit witch will determan everything else.

So 6010, how do i run it on a 6g weld test? Where do i start? What # no the clock? What should be the stoping point? What # no the clock? With 12 o clock being the top and 6 the bottom.

WELL i HAVE A QUESTION.  Just say you start at 7 o'clock on each side and weld to 12 oclock # 1 This would make you weld a 6010 uphill #2 how do you weld between 7 and 4 ?
Just a thought
