Up Topic Welding Industry / Technical Discussions / Stainless to Stainless w/ 309 wire???

We have a crew doing an field project out-of-town and they have to weld 7 ga. 304 SS to 304 using MIG and tri-mix gas.  Unfortunately someone packed the wrong wire, they took 309L instead of 308.  Should they proceed with the 309L wire or should we find the correct wire and switch?  Not a pressure or structural weld, I'm just worried about cracking of the welds.

Advice on this would be appreciated!

It would not much affect weld quality, on the contrary, it adds alloy in the weld mixture. No need to switch back if its not a pressure part.
