how much?
Parent - - By Sourdough (****) Date 07-27-2008 21:59
Man, that's too pretty to work!

I saw the most beautiful rig the other day!

I don't know how some of these pipeliners have the time to work on beds like I see here on the western slope!

My truck looks like me; weathered and dirty..............!
Parent - - By shorthood2006 (****) Date 07-27-2008 22:01
here is another, a guy named dean spoonemore, here in enid is building these. 120 hours each. basecoat/clearcoat. he just started on mine.
Parent - - By Roadhand (**) Date 07-27-2008 22:56
Very sweet, How long dose it take for him to build one out, and how much $ ?
Parent - - By up-ten (***) Date 07-28-2008 00:58
Nice deck and set up.But I was wonderin' if its real easy to change the oil when your machine is mounted like that.
Parent - - By shorthood2006 (****) Date 07-28-2008 01:12
there is a hole in the bellypan underneath the welder. a hose is fastened to the drainplug and oil drains into a bucket on the ground. the rear side curtain will fold up to get to the engine on the machine. about 30 minutes from start to finish.
Parent - - By up-ten (***) Date 07-28-2008 04:32
Slick. Whats the weight or are you concerned about the GVW?
Parent - - By shorthood2006 (****) Date 07-28-2008 11:11
bed weighs about 1600
Parent - - By shorthood2006 (****) Date 07-28-2008 14:30
i have had 3 of these beds. weight isnt an issue to me.
Parent - - By up-ten (***) Date 07-28-2008 15:55
Up here the DOT loves to pull rigs over for a little weigh-in. I heard about a guy who was pulled over and failed the "weigh-in". He had to call his wife to bring the pick-up and unload a wack of gear off his rig before they'd let him back on the road.
Parent - - By shorthood2006 (****) Date 07-28-2008 18:23
so far, in oklahoma its not that bad yet. i have a one ton hauling hot shot freight, they will pull you over and rake you through the coals.welding trucks .....they have left us alone.
Parent - - By DaveBoyer (*****) Date 07-29-2008 03:32
If the cylinders are mounted in an enclosure like on that bed are they legal without safety caps? Or is it just that You don't get stopped because they can't see them.
Parent - By shorthood2006 (****) Date 07-29-2008 14:20
the caps are protected...Dean(the bed builder) has built over 47 beds. None of his customers have complained about getting stopped and bothered by "jonny law".
i guess...out of sight, out of mind.
Parent - - By shorthood2006 (****) Date 07-29-2008 14:22

I tried to go to your website (pipelinebeds.com and it would not pop up I was interested in seeing if I could put one on my truck i have an 07 ram2500 or do you think a bed like that plus a 300 classic and all my tools would be to much weight for a 3/4 ton
Parent - By thewelder (***) Date 07-31-2008 03:58

Does this guy have any problems with storing his acetylene in the horz. pos?
Parent - By tigrooter (**) Date 12-16-2008 20:06
The acetylene bottle is upright behind the machine. go three post up from the pic and look at the attachment pic. you can see the top of the bottle.
Parent - - By sjkelly328 (**) Date 08-12-2008 01:56

Parent - - By texwelder (***) Date 08-23-2008 04:37
Do you have any place for a set of bottles on that bed? Cant tell, and are you going to put air-bags on the rear? Post more pics if you've done anymore on it..
Parent - - By sjkelly328 (**) Date 08-28-2008 02:24
hey can haul 1 oxygen and 1 acetylene. the oxygen bottle lays down under the box on front deck. the acetylene stands up on passenger front corner.
Parent - By texwelder (***) Date 08-28-2008 02:28
Do you have it painted yet? what goes in the box on top of the oxy. bottle? How much time do you have in it?

Parent - - By snuffman (***) Date 08-12-2008 02:54
You saling? What you asking for a bed just like in the pics?
Parent - - By Cumminsguy71 (*****) Date 08-13-2008 22:31
I like how you followed the body lines off the cab into the front of the bed, that took some time there. All these fancy beds make my skirted flatbed with tanks sticking up look like poop, then throw in the diamond plate aluminum toolbox and now my new fab'd tool box.
Parent - - By Robert48 (**) Date 08-23-2008 03:32 Edited 08-23-2008 03:41
Those body lines are not going to match up when you have to jack it up 5 inches for suspension travel. There is no way you can even put a Ranger 8 on that without smoking the out side tire. Looks damn good though.
Parent - By DaveBoyer (*****) Date 08-23-2008 04:16
Maybe it is like a buss - let the body down to the stops when You shut down... :-)
Parent - - By bullsnbets (**) Date 08-24-2008 00:20
I have the exact same truck, color and all, also with a custom bed. The body lines won't change when you add air bags. The bags are a "suspension lift". Now a "body lift", that of course is a horse of a different color. I thought the same thing when I was looking into adding the bags, but the fella explained it to me and all is good. I think that without the bags, I would have done a good bit of damage by now. Rig weighs 11,800 lbs. with truck and machine full of fuel. The bags were a great investment.
Parent - By texwelder (***) Date 08-24-2008 01:57
That is what I  said, air bags are the way togo. I should not have that problem I'm riggin out a F-450
Parent - - By texwelder (***) Date 08-28-2008 02:30
Cactus says they make some kind of overload rubbers that add 9000lbs cap. to the truck, they dont ever leak, and they only cost 300 bucks installed.
Parent - By 52lincoln (***) Date 08-28-2008 03:03
thats true
Parent - By snuffman (***) Date 08-28-2008 03:32
Rays champion springs off 35 in ftw sales them.
Parent - - By stanantonio Date 12-17-2008 03:31
I have them on my truck. If I can only remeber what they are called timbren.  had airbags on the last rig I had these seem to be just a good.
