I need help to figure out what the P-Number is for a 17/4 PH stainless is. The UNS is S17400, A564T630, or cast as A747GRCB7Cu-1. I'm trying to do a weld procedure for this material, but don't find what I need in ASME Section VIII. Am I looking in the wrong place?

To find a material's P#, you would need to look in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section IX table QW-422. I do not see either of the ASTM specs you listed in the table. (However, to be included in the table, it would need to be SA564 T630, or SA747 Gr. CB7Cu-1, as listed in the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code part II.) If you are qualifying an unclassified base metal you need to do it according to QW-424 in Section IX.

I have never found a P No. for 17-4PH (630,A693). Unless the new Sect. IX's have it I really don't belive it has been giveing a P No.

I assume you have a PQR from which to write your WPS. You can use the UNS number in place of a P No. on both Docs.
