European Pressure Directive (PED
Our company is in the process of acquiring a European Pressure Directive (PED).  We manufacture pressure monitoring and switching devises. The T.U.V. representative /auditor stated that the only faculty authorized to perform weld testing is in Ohio.  Is this correct?  Any thoughts on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

First of all, clear up what is an European Pressure Directive. That term could be familiar to Europeans but not to whom is not.

P.S. Do you mean that in Europe there's not any institution that is authorized to approve a welding procedure according to European Pressure Directive?

Giovanni,

Recognised Third Party Organisations are appointed by Member States to carry out the approval of welding procedures and personnel and non-destructive testing personnel

PED is a real pain in the butt, especially for people outside the EU.

Dave,

Are you trying to qualify a WPS or trying to qualify welders?
