change the oil tune it up with new plugs and wired dont forget to gap the plugs at 30 and use steel core wires you'll have to make them it aint hard prolly wouldnt hurt to run some marvel mystery oil thru the fuel tank fill it up and pour a lil bit in and run it do this every other fill up

The machine purs like a kitten. It fired right up no choke or nothing. The guy i bought it from didnt run it much but it sat alot. Has fresh gas and new fuel filter, but needs oil change. It is a 1985 from the number. No hour dial on it so i really dont have any idea of hours. I noticed the oil pressure light is not working. Do they go out? Running way too good not to have pressure .

does it have gauges on it if not get some and yes the lights do go out they cost about 8.00 new but dont depend on just the light get you some murphy switch gauges then you can rely on them if the oil pressure gets to low it kills the motor if the temp gets to hot it kills the motor no worries

all depends on what shape it is in anywhere form 1,000 to 2500 but i'd have to see it

I wanted to also tell ya, the machine has no problems idleing down or kicking up. That is why i was wondering if the light was just bad?????

I run either straight 30W or 15w40 Shell Rotella depending on what my truck feels like. That is to say you have been through your machine. If you just got an old machine off a farm full of sludge, stick with 30 or 40 weight non detergent oil as not to cause a fuss with the years of crap in the pan.
