I hope it's OK to ask the Metallurgy group about a plating issue. We want to weld an .048 CRS slot and tab weldment that will go to outside service for Zinc Plating. The plan is to GTAW the unit autogenously. However, there is a need to occasionally use a drop of filler. If we would use Silicon Bronze (Everdure) will the Zinc Plating be effected?

I agree with you but when we put the question to the plateing shop they couldn't answer it either. So while we run some tests (and loose 3 more days) I will keep searching.
