Some people say this 2 codes are complies each others. Meaning all variable are equivalent. can anybody share your opinion?

15614 is completely different. It is purely for qualification of welding procedures and has different variables anyway.

They are just 2 totally different codes.
As highlighted by nanjing, BS EN ISO 15614-1 is the code only for welding procedure qualification test whereas AWS D1.1 specified WPS, Welders, Welding Operator, deisgn, NDT, fabrication and blah... blah... blah...

The main differences are
1) EN ISO 15614-1 group material in according to CR ISO 15608 which based on chemical composition, strength, and supply condition,
whereas AWS D1.1 group material based on strength and grade that is "Listed" or "Unlisted".
2) BS EN ISO 15614-1 does not require/specify "6GR" qualification.
3) BS EN ISO 15614-1 does not limit neither minimum "16mm" nor the actual thickness qualified for t(qualified) > 6mm when impact testing is specified.
4) They having different range of qualification (position, diameter, thickness, especially thickness of fillet weld qualified)
5) AWS D1.1 T-joint qualified by butt joint but BS EN ISO 15614-1 specified T-joint qualification.

and blah...blah...blah
Just cannot tell you all the differences.

Noel Tan
