is this wire good for mild steel?
Parent - - By stkwldr (**) Date 10-24-2008 23:51
"ER70S6 is a mild steel welding wire that contains higher levels of manganese and silicon than other standard grades of MIG wire to produce high quality welds when used on dirty, oily, or rusty steel.  The high silicon content increases the fluidity of the weld pool, thus creating a smoother bead appearance and resulting in minimal post-weld grinding.  This wire is engineered to provide porosity-free, x-ray quality welds at the highest tensile strength (as welded) of all the plain carbon steel wires.  This product requires a shielding gas:  CO2 and/or CO2 mix."

i might use 1 spool per month in the shop. i hate buying 54 spools to have laying around... it sounds cheap enough though!

i give 76 bucks for a 44 lb. spool yeasterday.thats $1.73 per pound.

It is 72 spools per pallet.    If I break up the pallet, the cost will be higher.  If you use 20 spools per month, my price will be attractive.

i take it that its not 44 lb boxes?

Thanks in advance.  I maintain a good supply in my warehouse.  Most time I have 20-30 pallets available.  The price could be lower in next year since my replacement price is lower already.

Houston, Texas.

I may have trouble to sell to Texas customers without collecting sales tax.   But all other states will be fine.

44 lb spools?
Parent - - By mshi2956 (*) Date 10-26-2008 20:16
I only carry 33# spool at the moment since it is more popular among my current customers.
Parent - - By shorthood2006 (****) Date 10-26-2008 23:16
i would like to buy 4 or 5 spools before i buy a pallet....is this possible?
Parent - - By mshi2956 (*) Date 10-26-2008 23:37
I can send a spool of sample which is rougly 4-5 lb wire on 33# spool for you to test.  Free of charge.

I cannot sell 4-5 spool to you since the shipping cost maybe as high as wire cost itself.

The shelf life of those wire is about 12 month time.  If you only use 1-2 spool per month, buying from local is better.

Thanks for the interest.
