I was approched to write a procedure to preform some build up work on a offshore pup joint that is 4145. It will be supporting the complete string of casing. The build up will be on the box end & is due to some scaring from the make up on prier jobs. I had the connection inspected & there are a couple surface cracks needing repair. The pup joint is around 8k new & I am not sure if it is cost effective to write this procedure. Also should I be concerned with welding on the 4145.
