You can do a search here for other threads about the coveted & very illusive Cool Blue Lens. :-) It has been heavily discussed in the recent past. There was a place on ebay that had some AO Safety lenses that were similar, but a couple guys on here bought them & said the were NOT even close to the original. They wanted around $75 a piece.

Best of luck, everybody & their brother is looking for one. :-)

Good luck on it. S.W.

Apparently the filter plate makers are really missing the boat here. You would think that whoever has the "recipe" for them would start cranking them out by the truckload. Unless, of course, there were safety issues related to their use. I just don't know...... Anybody?

I have wondered if safety is an issue as well. It seems as if there is money to be made, and I ask myself why the manufacturers are not cashing in.

thats what im sayin. theres a ton of money to be made. none of the supposed reasons for discontinuing the product really make much sense to me

Hey, John. I just ran across a Lincoln Super Visibility Lens in an ancient helmet I had stashed in a closet forever. I almost thought it was a blue lens, but I took it out & seen the Lincoln writing on it. I have heard a few guys talk about them, any ideas?? S.W.

Im not sure where but the last time this topic came up on the forum, it was said that a chemical used to make this was banned or for gov? use. I had a few hands tell me the same thing when I started welding. They were trying to sale them to me for a 100.00. I just figured they were messing with the newbie. I wish I had picked up the few Ive seen at the pawn shops for $1. I no I wont ever let one go again.

Patents expire if You don't make any improvements to the product. When did these first come on the market?

Parent - - By snuffman (***) Date 11-16-2008 05:31
Dont they notify you that the patent is up so you have a chance to keep it?
Parent - - By DaveBoyer (*****) Date 11-16-2008 06:22
I am under the impression that You have to have made improvements to the product to renew it, but I could be wrong.

the lincoln super visability is a nice lens but nothing like an AO
Parent - By sbcmweb (****) Date 11-16-2008 23:53
Yeah, I heard that. I think for what I paid (zero dollars) I'll keep it & see how it works.
