Hi All,

I'm not sure if this question belongs here, but it is about a welding code.

I have a print that is to brazed and or welded to ISO 2553.  The standard includes welding, brazing, and soldering.

The print has four symbols.  Two of which are labeled in their tails as "braze" and the other two aren't labeled.

My boss says to braze everything.  My plant manager says to weld the symbols that aren't labeled braze, and to braze the symbols that are labeled braze.

The code isn't clear about symbols without process identification.  Any thoughts?

Keith,

Since I am not familiar with that code I hope someone with direct knowledge can fill both of us in, but- To me your plant manager seems more correct from how I understand your question.

The only way to be absolutely sure is to send a 'Request for Info' to the engineer or customer and get a clarification from the horses' mouth.  That seems the best way to avoid mistakes.

Have a Great Day,  Brent
