They are both AWS E 6010 classification electrodes. The manufacturers of electrodes may have 1, 2, 3 or more electrodes that meet the same AWS classification number. The difference is flux formulas that produce a specific arc characteristic. Arc starting - arc stabilizing. Lincoln started out with their 5P than improved it to the 5P+ and now they also have the 6P+ (supposed to work well on their inverter welders). Hobart calls their 6010 the Pipemaster 60 or Pro 60. They used have one called the 60AP.
Sorta like a car manufacturer which may have multiple models of sedans. All sedans but different names. Like the Chevy, used to have an Impala, a Biscayne or a Belair - all sedans.
