I know a sled rig welder that also goes and does single hand work.  He said he has a remote that has interchangable plugs.  That will work with any Lincoln or Miller machine(electric or engine driven).  Does anybody know were I can find out more info on this?

Lincoln and Miller are not compatable. Any modern Miller uses a 1K ohm potentiometer. Lincoln electronic machines i.e., Vantage series use  a 10K ohm pot, having a interchangable plug isn't the answer. I made a finger tip control  for my Vantage 400 by switching the Miller pot with a 10k pot and using the Miller housing- Ted

Ted pretty well summed it up. Lots of different pots in different manufacturer's remotes. A little electrical savvy & a call to Galco or Allied Electronics can fix you up with what you need though. Not all too hard to build a ditch box remote if you have the parts. Ebay's always good too.

Good luck. S.W.

Okay,  I thought it sounded funny but I don't know that much about the differences in a remote.
