Finally bought into the "lincoln is the best machine" story after all these years and if they where making BBQ's it would be a good one as far as being able to keep up to a miller big 40 does't even come close big piece of junk . Rod for rod, hour for hour the miller has won every time and I was trying to be objective and talk about noise, makes so much of it you would think three guy's we're working instead of one. So to all you lincoln lovers out there what a load of hog wallop. LOL

P.S - We're back to the miller store tommorow right after I unload this fine looking BBQ.

I have heard that before about the Vantages , some love em and some dont. I have not tryed one myself, but I have used millers and lincolns and I still cant say one is better than the other if you are comparing apples to apples. I am a lincoln man myself mainly because miller is still on my sh-t list, not that there welders are no good.

I wouldn't take a truckload of Millers for mine. AND I will put it against any Miller anytime. Once again, (my opinion)

Would the 67 model be any better than just using a 300d?

i prefer the redface machines and have not welded with a 300 d so i cant honestly answer your question but it all boils down to the welder and the machine he likes when you find the 1 you like you'll know it the vantage 500 cactus has welds so smooth you can almost just hold the stiger and let the machine do the rest

Hopefully you just rented the Vantage to try it out.  Used an AirVantage 500 for 1 day once.  Borrowed it from Kiewitt - no fancy work - just stick welding a bunch of brackets for their shop tent.    Good machine and, yes, a bit niosy.  Using a Lincoln 300 D now.  May it last forever.  Tom

I HAVE THE NEW VANTAGE 500 IN THE 300 FRAME. IT IS, BAR NONE, THE BEST MACHINE I HAVE EVER OWNED.

No, bought on account so it was easy to return in exchange for the machine of my choice with the economy the way it is they are just happy to make a sale lucky that both brands are sold in the same store.
