Well since I am getting near the end of my pipe training at school
I have been trying to decide where I should go?

Half of my class wants to go to Alberta, Canada and make $$ BIG dollars $$
one guy claims he already has a job offer of 90 canadian dollars an hour..more
if he gets his own rig and pays for supplies himself. Another guy is going to
Alaska...

Myself I was thinking of heading south to Texas?

Any help would be much appreciated guys..I can live anywhere so, I am not
tied to any city or area. Just want to make a good living for myself. Heard
that Texas had a low cost of living.

Where would you guys go for the most success??

Thanks
Erik

Not sure where you are from, but being able to move with the work is something to concider.  There is work all over Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma and although it is always a little slower this time a year, there will be pipeline work in these states for the forseable future.   If you are just breaking out, remember its not how much you are earning, its the fact that you ARE earning.  There are a lot of slick welders looking for work right now and this isnt a good time of year to be looking.

Consider the capital investment, required for rig work, before deciding what to do.

Alberta has been slowing down latley. but your own rig is the best way to go.
