1: what does built-in-overtime mean?

2: what is average wages for shop fitter/welder in the midwest?

a good fitter/welder should be in the 18-22 range in a non union shop, in the las vegas area.
But work is slowing down in vegas. layoffs are happening.

Hey Js

I'm in Wisconsin and there is a good market for welders in the centeral (Milwaukee) and northern areas (Appleton/Sturgeon Bay)

Journey level wages prolly range from 18-20 depending on process and experience. Some higher and some a bit lower until you prove yourself.

Go here and type in "welder"  and you will see several hundred opportunities.

thanks Lawrence, I have only been doing fit-up for about 2 years now. I guess here in Oklahoma if the sop thinks you are good at one thing they try to have you stay with it.

in shop .....The average based on what I have been offered for "general" fitting/welding all over the US is about $20 for the last 5 years for experienced help.  If you add full boat fabrication to that resume ....$25 to 27.50 on the outside.   Add machining and you might can pull more in small specialized companies.

I want to go back to piece/inch based pay  I made a helluva lot more money when I competed directly with my peers then by the hour.
