Hey guys ,
I am qualifing a weld procedure for a fillet weld in all position,(304 stainless to A36) I gave a 3F and a 4F fillet weld test to an individual, he passed the macro etch.
My question is when writing the cert , where i put in postion can i write (3F/4F) or do i have to write two seperate certs one for 3F and one for 4F??????

David,

Both D1.1 (steel) and D1.6 (stainless) have provided examples that are useful for in house doccumentation.

You can incorporate the results of both examinations on a single doccument.

Just curious, because I can't think of any structural codes that require only macro-etch for procedure qualification.

Which process?

Which code?

A36 to 304 stainless  FCAW Fillet Weld qualification D1.6 Section 4,  4.5.2.

thanks David
