I have a weldment which requires post heat of 1200 deg. my question is there a time specific time frame this should in after welding and where can I find it in the code book.

See if Tables 5.2 and 5.3 in D1.1:2008 is of any help to you. Clause 3 paragraph 3.14, and Clause 5 paragraphs 5.8.1 and 5.8.2 deal with PWHT.
