Up Topic American Welding Society Services / Certifications / SEM test? Acceptable test methods for HP s/s SEMI industry

Anyone have any input on acceptable test methods for procedure (WPS) development on high purity stainless tube?

The SEMI guidelines in our shop are controlled currently. But what is being requested by a new customer is for us to have a third party provide this service.

Any input or suggestions would be helpful. We have successfully used, modified and documented when needed the same parameters for the past 15 years for each different tube diameter and composition.

Basically what we need to do is run coupons for each diameter per our released weld schedule and they want us to send it out to get tested. For the following...

surface roughness
material test
Weld Zone

I'd check my local test lab that performs radiographic, dye-penetrate, tension testing, and the like.

It sounds like your customer might want a qualified weld procedure and tests per batch.
