Parent - - By OBrien (***) Date 02-04-2009 17:24
Me too.  Does this lens come with magical powers that makes you a better welder?   I would really hate to drop my hood with one of those in it.

Shad, sent you a PM
Parent - - By Marsh Welding (**) Date 02-05-2009 02:04
you use the green diamond lenses? i love those things. hard to find around here
Parent - - By JeremyW83 (***) Date 02-05-2009 02:19
My LWS carries a boat load of the Green Diamonds.  They are also carrying the Lincoln ones.  I like those better than the green diamond.

Those blue ones are nice for tig welding because it allows you to see everything that is going on in the weld pool.

blue pic
Parent - - By Marsh Welding (**) Date 02-05-2009 03:03
i should probably look online for some green diamonds. i dont tig to much. bein out in the sticks its hard to find anything good at my LWS
Parent - - By chris2698 (****) Date 02-05-2009 10:17
doesn't look any clearer then my green lens with gold mirrior. I was welding yesterday at work thinking my green lense is pretty dang clear how much better can these blue lenses really be. I'm gonna try the ao saftey blue and see if it's any better I gotta try it out though. I know they may not be as good as the old ones but gotta see it.

bid up to 690 god I wish I had a 100 of these lenses sell one of these or 2 a week I'll be able to take a nice little vacation

all those bids after 300.00 with 0 feed back are boggus I would suspect I have been playing the e-bay game for a long time just my .02 cents on this oh and i do use a weld cool shade ten but would never pay that kind of money for one.
Parent - By patg (**) Date 02-05-2009 12:58
i was curious about that as well, i found this on the bidding page but who knows

To help keep the eBay community safe, enhance bidder privacy, and protect our members from fraudulent emails, eBay has changed how User IDs display on the bid history page. Only you and the seller of the item can view your User ID, all other members will see anonymous user IDs, such as x***y.

i'll have to check the packages i got some green diamond stuff in there but not sure whats in it they maybe clear lenses but i have used them and yes they are good lenses i know most of the greens i have are some cheap after market i got for nothing i prolly have around 10-15 of them
Parent - - By Metarinka (****) Date 02-05-2009 19:20
I'll repeat it again. If there's such a demand for the AO cool blue lenses, why doesn't AO or another manufacturer capture this and start selling the glass again at a marked up price?

seems like buisness 101, if people are willing to pay $500+ for the lenses I'm sure there would be a consistent demand if someone started making them again.

I agree, I mean this dude supposively had 32 bids on the dam thing.
Parent - By Cactusthewelder (*****) Date 02-05-2009 20:50
He did have over 30 that I know of. I bid on it till it hit 350. Before my bid would even post I had been out bid by an automatic bidder. It was the same guy bidding. His name was kept private so I will bet it was the seller running up his price. Like I said I know it had automatic bids until 350 I quit at that point. So the seller could have bought it his self.
Parent - - By pipehog (**) Date 02-05-2009 19:54
this is why . they are not impact resistant.

No glass welding lens is impact resistant though, it's glass. That's why you use a clear lens on each side of them. Besides, every company I've ever worked for makes you wear safety glasses under your hood, except pipeline.
Parent - - By pipehog (**) Date 02-05-2009 21:17
I think that the newer lens have some sort of impact resistance but not unbreakable.
Parent - - By tighand430 (***) Date 02-05-2009 22:02
But the new ones are plastic. They are impact resistant like safety glasses. I'm just sayin that all glass lenses aren't impact resistant, no matter who makes them.
Parent - By OBrien (***) Date 02-05-2009 22:16
So they're paying over $600 dollars for something that if you drop once goes bye-bye.  I think I will stick with the cheaper lenses.
Parent - By pipehog (**) Date 02-05-2009 22:22
the new glass lens must pass a ball bearing test the old didnt.
Parent - By jp2welder (**) Date 04-07-2009 17:27
On EBay, right now, in limited quantities.

Search for this number: 250402508285
