as we all know, just about any stick welder can also run stick, but why bother changing out the stinger when you can just jam it into your tig torch?

It does work. I've done it a couple times when the stinger wasn't close by an it was just for a small weld. Wouldn't recommend doin it for a long time tho.

i went to do a lil side job once and didnt have enuff lead to reach so i used my jumper cables just like Mcgyver

I mean people have used everything from microwave transformers to car alternators, if it can hold the amperage it's a stinger in my mind.  Then again I would be weary about holding an unshielded jumper cable aligator clamp. It's very hard to undue an aligator clamp when you're actively being jolted

Propane at a minimum but acetalyne works best.
