Up Topic American Welding Society Services / Certifications / how do I keep my cwi?

I found out yesterday that I passed the cwi test and have some questions.  What does AWS require to keep current?  Do I have to have a certain number of hours inspecting per year?  If so, how do you prove it?  Do I send in copies of my timesheet or something?  I appreciate any info anybody can give me.  Thanks

Congradulations.  The only requirements are that when you complete your 3 year renewal you are capable of showing at least 2 years work which involves some form of weldiing or inspection activity.  There are currently no requirements to provide any proof of this, just your completion of the form required for renewal.

If I remember correctly, the renewal application has to be notarized, in other words, you are "swearing" that the information regarding your employment "history" is true.

Best regards - Al
