I'm qualifying a welder to a WPS we have established to ASME IX, it is on 1/2" 6061, vee Groove, no backing, 2G and 3G, GTAW. I'm trying to find out some more info on the visual inspection criteria. QW194 states "Performance test coupons shall show complete joint penetration with complete fusion of weld to base metal" Is that all that is required? Is there any criteria on undercut, reinforcement min/max, weld profile etc ? I guess I'm used to D1.1 and D1.2 being more specific. Also we are going to qualify using RT.
