That is WILD. Here in Mississippi we would have used Lag bolts or at least some good decking screws on that frame!

That's pretty rough!I saw some primative welding rigs when I worked in Lithuania,The stinger was three pieces of 1/4 re-bar wrapped in rubber,with the stick rod wedged in between.
