This is a requirement for some places I've applied for a pipefitting job,  what is this? I've been working around pipe about ten years but never worked in a refinery.  Is it a math test? How long/how much money to get a card?thanks guys J

I took that test about 8 years ago.  It was about 100-120 general questions.  Some were math but most of them were basic pipefitting knowledge....take-offs, valve assembly, drawings, etc.  It was a pretty tough test.  The place where I took it said that only about 30 % of the peolple passed and the avg score was like 50 or something.  I was fresh out of the union apprenticeship school so I made an 87.

I took it in 2001 i thought it was easy. It is a general pipefitting knowledge test. I think they supplied a sheet of scratch paper and a blue book for the math part. It is a timed test.
