I reworked the bucket on My friend's loader using ER 70S-6 and short circut transfer. That was before I came to this site and read that buckets might be made from T1...

My repair has held up several years now, so I guess it was OK.

Is it broken, worn through or a failed weld?

Thanks Dave, is there another name for T1. Did you use a preheat if so what temp did you use.

T-1 is the old commercial name of A514, there is a thread where I posted some links to technical recommendations in the technical section on 3/2/09.

I just got back looking at the bucket and it looks like more work than I want to do. It was in the hinge it self it would have to be gouge apart and a new part put in place. They wanted a quick turn around on it and I work a full time job so I couldn't work on it except on weekends. Thanks to everyone for there info.

I did not use any preheat. This is not a heavy duty bucket, just a 1 yard bucket on a compact loader/backhoe. For waht it may have been worth, it happened to be moderate weather.
