I was ask today to weld a crack up on a Bobcat 4 in 1 bucket haven't seen it yet,but I'm going to look at it tomorrow any suggestion like what type of material, preheat, electrode would be appreciated because I've never work on one before.
I reworked the bucket on My friend's loader using ER 70S-6 and short circut transfer. That was before I came to this site and read that buckets might be made from T1...
My repair has held up several years now, so I guess it was OK.
I just got back looking at the bucket and it looks like more work than I want to do. It was in the hinge it self it would have to be gouge apart and a new part put in place. They wanted a quick turn around on it and I work a full time job so I couldn't work on it except on weekends. Thanks to everyone for there info.
I did not use any preheat. This is not a heavy duty bucket, just a 1 yard bucket on a compact loader/backhoe. For waht it may have been worth, it happened to be moderate weather.
