Cost estimating software wanted. Or excel formulas to calculate the weight of deposited weld based on the base metal density, number of passes based on decimal plate thickness, man hours per foot based on process, etc. Excel formulas preferred. Thanks, Kent.

Here is a visual basic program for some of the things you indicate. The formulas are from welding handbook volume 1 and lincolns welding procedures handbook. This is a windows 3.1 program and requires the vbrun .dll file which is supplied. It will run under 95/98/me. The formulas aren't available in the program.

An example of a custom built application using excel is available at http://www.sterlingwelddata.com/ and will give you an idea of what can be done if you learn the formulas and apply them as you need them..

Perhaps you may want to learn how to use Excel rather than have others give your their information. By learning Excel, you could customize the program to your specific needs.
