I saw these being used today. I am still undecided. Anybody ever used them? If not, what is your opinion. They are ANSI approved.

I would use that faceshield to scare my children.

One thing I see for sure is that there is no protection for the neck area.

Yes, I've had a limited run with those, they are "supposed to " not fog from breath, which they sorta kinda do. But out in the cold the heat and moisture from your eyes will still fog the goggle part. Perhaps at lower elevations and humid environments....Where I live and work, they are a marginal improvement. Oh yeah, another benefit is they reduce the dust and filings falling into your eyes when lifting the shield compared to the full face, metal band hard hat rig.
Some jobsites are also requiring safety glasses, goggles and faceshields, so perhaps this might override the tripple barrier???

Superflux,
Thanks for the feedback. I am still a little concerned about neck protection, but in our shop it should not be to big of an issue as we run mostly flap disks.

It looks like a cheap paintball mask, and it looks like it would fog just as quickly.
Put a wrap around soft leather hood that coveres the front and back of the neck and head and a better looking vent and id use it. Maybe a little fan or something.
As is I dont think I could take it seriously... but it would beat saran-wrap.

a welding instructor out here uses the exact same thing but it's filtered. Uses it to watch people while they are gas welding or cutting, never seen a clear version

It looks like it might not protect the forehead all that well either.

Well that picture shows the best protection!! I would simply leave it if I do like this...

It is not designed as a grinding faceshield. It is designed as a chemical faceshield. To protect the eyes and face from accidental chemical spillage, at least the ones that look just like that I have seen.
