I have a question about clausule 4.8.1.1 D1,1 - 2008.
I qualificated a welder in position 6g Groove Weld
Diameter: 6 inch
Thickness: 7.5mm
The weld have undercut no more than 1mm for acumulated length up to 1 1/2 in.
According clausule 4.8.1.1 "Undercut shall not exceed 1/32 in (1 mm)". It means the weld pass but in the section 4, the code dont say nothing about undercut acumulate.
In this case, ¿Can I use tha table 6.1 of the section 6?

Best Regards.
Erik

For welder performance qualification you refer to 4.30.1, tthen that refers you to 4.8.1, then that refers you to 4.8.1.1 and your done.  You don't go to 6. anything.  If he meets the VT criteria for 4.8.1.1, then he passes.  Give him a pat on the back and bring in the next victim. ;-)

Dear Erik,

I think if undercut is smooth, your test coupon pass. If undercut is sharp, your test coupon fail, irrespective of deep.
