im building a basic hauler bed,and have got to the point of mounting my fifth wheel, my questions are, whats better 5th w. or gooseneck? and has anyone mounted these to there bed and not the frame? if so how , interested because ill be pulling it quite a bit this summer.thank you for any input.

I would go with a gooseneck and just put an adapter on your travel trailer. my ball is mounted to the bed but the big piece of chanel I used bolts to the fram in 4 places.

It all depends on how good your bed is mated to the frame of your truck.

If you intend to pull your trailer over uneven terrain then a gooseneck is the only way to go. Fifth wheel hook-ups don't articulate very well.

thanks for the info ,i got a good idea of what i need to build and brace this to the frame,
