I just got a call today from our local Caterpillar dealer. The government is paying 75% of the costs to repower diesel equipment older than 1998 with new emmissions legal engines. A 3306 that costs about $9000 to overhaul can be replaced with a new no polution unit for $8000 plus the $24000 the gov will pitch in. The old smoking poluter will be destroyed. Now with construction at a basic standstill is the "right" time to spend all of this money for equipment without a home?

Maybe you can repower your welders for 3-4000 out of pocket expense.
