I've got a discussion with someone concerning the units for PTA powder feed rate.  I'm not terribly familiar with the process, but when I've seen feed rate called out, it's been in g/min.  Has anyone seen it specified another way either on paper or on the powder feed controller, like in oz/min or lb/hr?

tons/yr  was very common on all our machines save for our mig machines which gave wire speed as miles/hr

sorry not constructive... I'll slither back under my rock now

what is the issue in regards to the feed rate?

Tons per year?! I bet Stellite loves you guys.

Not really an issue, just a point of curiosity.  Someone's asking me the question and I don't know because I only have a casual knowledge of the process, so I figured I'd see if anyone here knew what was typical in the PTA world.
