Question;
If I ran a PQR test plate with hand held SAW, can I write a WPS for automatic (track) SAW??

I went through Clause 5 Qualification, and also through Table 5.3, and it talks about travel speed and heat input and such, but it doesn't say I can't use my hand held to write a WPS for automatic.  As long as the speed and heat input are within where I ran my PQR plate I think I'm good to go, I'd like a second opionion to mnake sure I'm not missing anything.
Thanks
Chris

I  think  the  main  difference  is  that   the  travel speed  is  somewhat  operator governed  whereas  on  a sub - arc  machine
it  is  just  plug  and  play  -

Well, I'm going to say that since it says nothing about this issue, that it is ok to use either hand held or track as long as I keep my heat inpu/ joules and travel speed within my limits of the PQR.

Perhaps welder, welding operator designations may have to be defined.
