In the last 7 months I have not busted a weld at my shop. Now in the last 2 months I am busting about 30%.  The last 5 busts I have not been ablee to find anything at all that would make it bust.  This last one that I repaired they sent it back and said it busted again but on the oposite side that I  even repaired whats going on?  I asked if I could see the film but they gave me the run around.  Are they looking for and excusse to lay me off or is there more of a technical reason?

New inspection company or level 3? I've run into a similar problem at a shop a few years ago. You should at least be getting overlays showing the extent of the defect and location.

The company I was working for changed the company doing the x-rays and all of a sudden I landed a 15% rejection rate on welds. I couldn't find the repairs when digging back into these nearly one inch wall welds and one repair came back with a new reject in a different location. After 2 weeks of this the company I was working for bought a film reader and requested that the level 3 calling repairs come and sit down with us to explain the repairs. Things changed back to the way they were.

When you say you busted a weld, for what?
