God day Gentlemens,

metallurgically speaking, what are the implications of not carrying out an RT inspection after a heat treatment for stress relief when RT was performed for the initial release of the joint?

Thanks for ypur comments
Erik.

Hello Erik, I believe the short answer is that in some cases there can be a delayed cracking issue with some materials and joint configurations. I am sure others can give you a more concise answer, yet I believe I have covered the main reason. Best regards, Allan

Erik,

Do a search here on the forum, it has been discussed many times before.
You can also do a google search for the term "delayed cracking" that should keep you busy reading for a long time :)
