Can someone advise if Inconel 625 material can be welded to CuNi flange using GTAW process. I could not find a suitable filler selection after checking through some welding consumbles guide books. Can either ERCuNi or ErCrNiMo3 fillers be used?

Hi Boon!

Look at the chart on page 32 of 52 in this link from Special metals Inc. Huntington Alloys Division... Remember to match the 2 metal grades and focus on the right side of the top of the chart for GTAW filler metal recommendations. Most important is to consider service application conditions. ;) :) :)

Hi Boon , don't use a chromium rich consumable for welding Cu Ni it will more than likely end up full off cracks. If you cant match the material a straight nickle filler will work.
