I told someone a few months back that there was a Mittal steel pamphlet on the welding of T-1 (A514, A517) Steels that had the best information on welding T-1 I had ever seen collected in one place. Unfortunately Mittal was bought out by Acelor and the link was no longer operative. So, as I promised, I found my copy and digitized it and placed it on my webserver at:

There it will stay unless I get a copyright complaint from AcelorMittal.

I don't use it as much as I used to, but on a casual scan there appears to be very good info there.

I really like the way they explain the heat input formula, and then reverse engineer it to figure out the amps.  That should help a couple of guys in my shop.

Thanks for the info. I weld T-1 quite a bit and have been asked many questions by companies and have had nothing in writing to go by. So again I thank you.
