The Cash for Clunkers program is already out of money.  I can't wait for the government health insurance program!

Griff

Just announced (Sat. am) on the news:   Congress has authorized 2 Billion more dollars for this program.  WOW!

This didn't make any sense when they suspended it. The allocated 1 billion, but suspended it after spending 92 million.

Nothing the government has done lately has made any sense.

Might call it cash for Auto MFG, looks like they are making deals starting with full list price. Cars were cheaper before the big "O" bought out GM. Guess who had the most qualified cars?? They crushing the evil trade ins?

Does it seem a little ironic that with the 2 billion they are adding to the original 1 billion, you get 666,666.... Units. That's at the 4500 voucher??

Just did the math and you are correct. That's weird. Or is it???

Sorry, I heard about this on the radio Saturday and couldn't resist checking it out.
I'm not saying it is legit or that I believe this, I'm just sharing the link.

Have you seen the processing of the cars turned in?
They pour water and a glass power (i think) in the engine and seize it up.......you should see the polution thats causing.
Cant wait untill we all need spare parts for our unapproved autos...........
I would think they could have taken it to a new lvl, let the semi polluting cars be traded again for the real carbon bombs out there...get the worst of the worst off the road.

There will not be any auto replacement parts you will have to purchase a new "GREEN" car. This has already been done with Kohler and  Briggs & Stratton small engines you can not buy pistons, cranks, heads etc. for 15 year old engines you have to buy a complete EPA approved replacement. If you notice small engines don't have a HP rating anymore its "Torque Rating" as the actual HP is down.

They don't take into account how much energy was used and how much polution was generated to make the new car. This is just another Govt. program that benifits a few at everyone's expense.
