Up Topic Welding Industry / Metallurgy / Another gift to the forum

Good evening everyone!!!

I got bored this morning... Then I realized that I always feel better when I start exploring the internet, and contribute something of relevance to this forum which is a sort of therapy for me since having to cope with the after affects of Chemo therapy.

I also feel better when I give to others who may need, or want to have something of relevance, and that is how I decided to share this with the participants of this forum.
So this is another gift for all to  freely enjoy, and yet the gift is really from M.I.T. Otherwise known as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology!!! :) :) :)

ENJOY!!! ;)

I noticed you are a weld engineer and I was wondering about type of jobs in that field and steadiness of work? Im considering the ohio state program, any advice?
Parent - By Metarinka (****) Date 08-24-2009 11:23
responded via private message.

short answer is it's a relatively versatile degree and work is extremely steady right now. big shortage of skilled welding engineers

I'm a fairly recent grad of OSU's WE program.  The long and short of it is that once you graduate, you'll do yourself many favors by finding a job that requires you to wear jeans and steel toes to work.  The information you get there is great, but you need to be aware of it's deficiencies (mainly hands on stuff), and make sure you make up for that once you get out.

Thanks. THAT IS GREAT!

I appreciate the info and you. This is almost as good as those free rate training manuals I used to get !
