Up Topic Welding Industry / General Welding Discussion / Scorpion or Weatherford?

Anybody have any dealings with either Scorpion Offshore or Weatherford International? I've seen a few where they are looking for mechanics. Just wanted to do some blue collar research on the companies if anyone has any info, dealings etc.

Got a friend that works for scorpion. It's a new offshore drilling company that has brand new jack up rigs. likes the company thay have 4 or 5 new rigs and have 2 or 3 going up in the shipyards now. been there a year and he gets a promotion every hitch it seems.

i weld on there casing heads, and do there alunimum tig work through marathon, they take 2 months to pay, as far as working for weatherford the guys around here seem to enjoy it, hope this helps ..

Thanks for the info. I applied for a diesel mech job with Scorpion for the jack up rigs and think welder/mechanic for Weatherford.
