ASTM A843 weathering steel tube Group #?

I will be meeting with a supplier in a few days. They supply tubular railing and other products, but they are not familiar with some code requirements. While reviewing some qualification issues myself, I could not find ASTM A843 weathering steel tube in D1.1. Does anyone know what group this material should belong to in D1.1?

Tom,
A843 is an unlisted material. See 3.3 of D1.1. You will have to qualify welding procedures.

Are you sure you are looking for ASTM A843? That specification was withdrawn, in 1987, and replaced by ASTM A876.

Are you sure it is weathering steel? As far as I know, weathering steel is either ASTM A588 or ASTM A709 Gr 50W or 100W.

What is the reason you want to use AWS D1.1:xxxx.
