ka bar knives

does anyone have any personal experience with this brand (model 1245 is what im looking at) and/or do you know of any other tanto type blade style that you reccommend.
ive had a a couple of muela tantos which were absolutley supreme in quality and worksmanship
but they were stolen from my truck and need a replacement.
on a side note the homeland security has refused to let some knives across the border as they have recently been declared weapons of war.

Is that Kabar made here? Why get something from across the border when many fine custom knife makers still make them here in the USA !

Yeppers! They're still made in Olean, NY just north of me about four and a half hours drive. :) :) :)
The town sucks as I used to live there but, they do make some EXCELLENT KNIVES!!! ;)

I Doubt too many major battles of the last century were fought with KNIVES... what does DHS have a bug up their butt about when it comes to having a KaBar???
I'm pretty sure my AR-15 and my AK47 are more "weapons of war" than a KABAR.

Or is it more of the "citizens aren’t allowed to defend them self’s" mentality that the govt. has been pushing for a while...
