what is the proper way to check the coils in the housing of my sa200?(Continuity) i should check continuity and should get a reading i suppose if i don't get reading then that means there is a break in the wire some where rite?

Do a search on here I know Kaye has posted it here before, I've seen it. Wait a minute....might be in my mail...nope, nothing in there about testing the coils.

Are you talking about the ohm reading of the shunt fields? If that is what you are asking they should read 40 ohms disconnected.

the coils he is referringtocould be the field coils whcich are locatedon eachside ofthe exciter and yesthey have to be disconnectedto check them. but i dont remeber the reading you are suppose to get
